Book of Matthew: “For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”

This is one of the more distressing statements found in the Bible. It seems to imply that the rich will grow richer and the poor poorer, and that that is the will of Spirit.
