1. The three aspects of reality could be called purpose, form and consciousness. Although we say there are three aspects, these are but the first identifiable traits of an underlying Reality about which we can say nothing directly.

The three human disciplines that correspond to these aspects are spirituality, science and philosophy. The work of philosophy is to bridge or reconcile spirituality and science, just as consciousness harmonizes purpose and form.

The bridging of science and spirituality settles the mind so Reality can shine forth of its own accord.

Looking at the history of the last hundred years or so, we can see that the great failure has been one of philosophy. Indeed, both science and spirituality are rich in vital output, while philosophy is oddly silent, in fact, apparently an unnecessary branch of human endeavor.

Philosophy has failed in its role of encompassing the range of spirit and science, and this failure is evident all around us. Philosophy’s job is to expand consciousness. It builds thoughtforms that help to lead consciousness outward, beyond forms.

This is the essential work now before us.
