The Work of Philosophy, 2

Although we have said there are three aspects to reality and given them names, we must continually remind ourselves that these are provisional tools for exploration. Reality cannot be contained in words and to believe so is yet another trap for consciousness.

Philosophy’s job is never to entrap or contain consciousness. Whenever philosophy does so, it ceases doing its work and becomes dogma.

Philosophy’s job is to liberate consciousness. Consciousness always contains philosophy, and true philosophy is ever ready to void itself, to dissolve into the greater good.
